Will I be accepted into OSU?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: language school in miami

I got a 24 on the act which is very low, and I don't have enough time to take it again. I switched schools in the middle of my junior year from a semester school to a trimester school, which lowered my gpa. My gpa is currently around 3.6-7.

The classes I have taken since freshman year have been mostly Honors and AP classes.

I was born in Pakistan and I speak 3 languages. When I was 4 we moved to the US. Shouldn't my minority status help?

I am in 3 clubs and I volunteer at a hospital and at a temple.
I played JV soccer for 1 year also.

I know I have written an OUTSTANDING essay for the OSU app, It took me a couple weeks because I took my time.

Do you guys think I will be accepted into OSU? I'm hoping that I get accepted since it is my top choice…

If not OSU, do you guys think I will be accepted into Miami university in Oxford? That's my second choice…

Oklahoma State University: Definitely

Oregon State University: Definitely

Ohio State University: Highly Likely — especially if you are an Ohio resident.

If your GPA is unweighted and you have high SAT scores, you can probably do better than any of the OSUs.

our lil gurl is stuck on spanish..what should we do?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: language school in miami

I'm Venezuelan and my boyfriend is Cuban…We're both from Miami and down here it's nothing but spanish of course. But our lil gurl is like attached to the language. We've always tried to teach her spanish AND english but she's becoming more fluent in spanish and is starting to struggle with her english. She's 5 and we don't want her to start school like this. what should we do?

Be very glad that she has become fluent in Spanish. Continue to speak it at home with her, that way she will grow up bilingual. As for the English, she will pick that up at school with no problem whatsoever. The five-year-old mind is incredibly flexible and able to learn languages quickly and well. Most people have the opposite problem, that their kids prefer English and want to forget their Spanish. Congratulations on your good parenting!

This is a basic profile…..

GPA: 4.0 (unweighted)
AP Exams taken so far: Biology(5), World History(4), U.S. History(4), Physics B(3), English Language(5), Calculus AB(5)

I played JV soccer for 2 years, have 2 part time jobs (one at the library, one teaching religious school), i am in 5 honor societies, captain of academic team, play violin and viola (have been accepted into county orchestra on both), and have done at least 150 hours of volunteer work throughout high school…..
my school doesn’t do ranks but for percentages, i’m in the top 10% and maybe even in top 5% or 1%…
oh and I’m from New York….

Can I get into any of these colleges, and if so, which ones do you think will give me a lot of money (scholarships/aid)… I’m looking for about 80-100% scholarships?

Foreign student wants to enter University in U.S?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: language school in miami

I have a legal work permit and Social security number.
I'm 28 years old and I live in Florida USA.
I would like to enter any University in Miami.
I speak English very well.
In 2003 I studied 2 semesters of Modern Languages and Pedagogy in a very important university of Colombia (South America).
I have never done the TOEFL or SAT and neither have I validated high school (in case I need to).

Where exactly should I do begin???
a step by step plan would be perfect.
thanks in advance guys.
I'm from LATIN AMERICA (just in case) it seems an ignorant thought I was Islamic or Muslim .

Quotas are being readjusted radically if you're from any Islamic country so don't hold your breath, and rightfully so.

The Al Arian scandal is still fresh in the minds of many in Florida and the USA.

So sorry to inform you but Muslims are screened and re-screened and investigated and screened again and rightfully so.

Which of my colleges can I get into?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: language school in miami

I have a 3.78 high school GPA, I've taken 7 regular, 5 honors, and 6 AP courses, My ACT is a 27 and my SAT is 1300 (700 Math, 600 Verbal) my senior courses are:
Calc AB AP
Physics B AP
English Language AP
French Literature AP
Comparitive Gov't AP

I play soccer (probably won't go very far with that), I am in a number of school clubs, I have about 150 service hours, great recs, decent essays, and i'm a colombian jew.

My colleges are:
Emory University
Tulane University
Washington U in St. Louis
University of Miami
University of Florida
Babson College
Boston College
UC at Berkeley
Claremont Mckenna College

can anyone help???

I highly doubt you'll get in to Berkeley but you have a shot at Wash U and the rest you have a solid shot at. You're grades are decent, as are your scores and ec's. Nothing really stands out, but being a Colombian Jew will actually help you out since you are so average. If you're in Cali then you have a slight shot at UCB and should apply for UCLA. If not then it's a definite no.
