is it true you will be accepted to any Cal state college with a GPA of 3.0 or higher? my gpa is 3.5?

i have applied to San Francisco State, San Jose State and Long Beach State. I hope i get accepted since my gpa is 3.5, i have taken uc courses like 4 years or math, 3 years or science(bio, chemisty, fizix) and 3 years of foreign language. my sat score is 1350(490 CR, 450 Math, 400 writting). do i have a chance at either school?

No that is definately not true!!!

The rule you are referring to is that if you have over a 2.9 GPA, Cal State will ignore your SAT scores. Furthermore, you will be accepted into the Cal State system to attend a Cal State school.

However, you don't get to pick the Cal State that you want to attend. They pick. Quite often it is Cal State Fullerton.

That said, if you have a GPA of 3.5 you will probably have a choice of a few schools in the Cal State system. Just remember that UC and Cal State use a funky system that counts only certain years and classes and is weighted.

The Sabbath day is the seventh day of the week, Saturday.

The observance to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy was part of the Law of Moses, the Old Testament.

In the New Testament, there is no command to observe the Sabbath. Instead, Christians in the New Testament met upon "the first day of the week". (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 16:1-2)

In fact, the Old Law was nailed to the cross with Christ. (Colossians 2:14) This being the case, the New Testament states, "Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to… a Sabbath.." (Colossians 2:16)

Remember the Sabbath is part of the Old Testament. We can learn a lot from a study of the Old Testament, but for instructions on how to worship and serve God we now need to look to the New Testament.

In Galatians 5, some were trying to bind an Old Testament command on New Testament Christians. Verse 3 says if they bound this one item, they were "debtor to keep the whole Law"!

If we bind one command because it is in the Old testament, we must keep it all (animal sacrifices, feasts, yearly trips to Jerusalem, etc.)! "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)

If we try to Justify ourselves by the Law of Moses, then we have fallen from grace! (Gal. 5:4)

The New Testament now gives the instructions for our worship. The examples in the New Testament show Sunday worship.

Sunday, however, is never called the Sabbath in the Bible, but we are not under the Law that commanded the Sabbath.

Does she realize what she’s doing? LONG, VERY LONG?

Ok…I like this girl, and I’m going to explain in detail what we do. Before you read, my questions to keep in mind are: Is she flirting? Does she know it? What does it mean? Please answer those three things or at least one depending on what you think after you read. (THIS IS HIGHSCHOOL BTW!)

1 week of school: We became friends as we are both foreigners here in Portugal

2 weeks of school: At lunch, she was making a sniffing sound because she had a cold, I playfully joked and said she was crying. She said thats not nice. 10 minutes later she made a sniffing sound again and I said awwww your crying. She asked me, “what would you do If I was crying? “. I responded, “I’d do this” and hugged her and rested her head on my chest.

3 weeks of school: Hugging everyday, she touches my legs when she’s talking to me when sitting near me. In classes where we sit together, she leans in front of me to the point where I cannot not be looking at her. I put my arm around her shoulder about 10-15 times a day. She was cold at a break and I held her for 5 minutes.

4 weeks of school (this week):
Monday: we talk, listen to music from my psp- some metal, some rap/hip-hop, and some others. She listened to every song I played and I played some really soft songs about a lover by this metal band (She doesn’t understand music in english very well because its a foreign language, although she does speak it very well. While listening to music we were on a bench with our bodies touching.

Tuesday: Everyone in class eats at schools on Tuesdays, not much happened apart from the periodic arm around shoulder I do every day.

Wednesday: Short day, ends at 1:30, no lunch, sat by me in Bio, we talked and again, arm around shoulder and also held her arm while helping her respond to questions.

Thursday: Many eat at school. Sitting down with a friend on a bench, she comes, and my friend leaves so it’s us two on the bench listening to my psp again. All I had was metal and rap (she doesn’t like rap or metal) and she insisted on hearing the music. So after 10-20 minutes i turned off the psp because I didn’t want her to have to listen to music she didn’t like, she also during this time had her hand on my leg for some 5 minutes while she looked at my psp’s screen and leaned in front of me. During our 5 pm class, our teach left the class for about 20 minutes to use the restroom and print papers (Teacher knows I like this girl bc teacher had asked me If I liked anyone at school and I told her who). The girl (this is while teacher is gone) grabbed my pointless language exercise and wanted to “read” it. So, I with my right hand held her right hand while I reach behind her shoulders with my left arm and tried to snag the paper from her (we were childishly playing) and we did this for about 5 minutes.

Friday: I ate at school with her, just me and her. While we sat on “the” bench I was talking about some friends and people I had met from Counter-Strike who lived in Canada in real life in San Francisco. Then I told her, “let me show you where this all is” and I pretended to draw a map on her knee but it was to round, so I took her hand with my left hand, and “drew” a map on her hand (she was saying it tickles, but let me draw), and I showed her where Ontario was, then San Francisco, then my city. After we had bio, sat by her again, she was trying to grab my papers again so I took her right hand (hand not arm) and held it with my left hand while I answered the questions (held her hand for about 5 minutes). I left after P.E. (last class) asap because I have math tutoring (she takes like 10 mins to get out of lockers).

After reading this very long, long, and long story… I think she does like you. She sounds like a shy girl, like very shy. So you have to remeber that, you seem like a very sweet guy, and you are showing her you like her, or maybe she could be thinking you are flirting. Just drop a few big hints you like her, and see her reaction.
I think personally she really does like you,
you guys would be a very cute couple.

Ask her to go somewhere, not as in a date, as friends first.
So she can see how you are. Make her laugh! Girls love to smile and have a good time.

I'm a social work major who plans on moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. I'll be a lot more competitive if I am bilingual Spanish speaking. At the age of 22, is it too late to start studying a foreign language?

I did 2 years of French in high school and have since forgotten most of what I learned.

nope it is never too late, and since u are so young, ( hun, I'm nearing the big 4-oh!) you will be ok. I agree, it may seen hard, but I think u can do it. Try the rosetta stone, I hear that is a gr8 way to learn a foreign language. Many older , ahem! ppl use it with great results!

Looks like a junior in high school's essay. Try to use some examples of latin or sumething. Its impressive at the most. Im just being a critic. End it with your opinion of the subject more clearly so the viewer knows what you think.
