Latin is the forefather of Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Romanian and the language of Italy can be traced back to somewhere in the later part of the tenth century. However, it took around another four hundred years for Italian to become an official language.

These days the internet has completely changed the way we conduct our daily lives – and studying languages is no exception. So, where to start? Regardless of how you decide to learn italian, there are a number of tips that should apply if you’re serious about learning it, or any language for that matter. The most important one is this: be determined. It’s no use diving in all full of enthusiasm and cramming in vast amounts of information for a few days, and then not returning to your studies until a week or two later. The most effective method|approach will always be slow and steady! your brain finds it easier to retain information if you feed it little by little and often. Go over what you learned last time before you move on to something new. Make sure to keep going back to ensure you dont forget the stuff you’ve already learned! This is the same reason we’re made to take tests at school.

A good way to make sure that your previous study remains firmly lodged in your head is to keep yourself familiar with it. If you can practise conversation on a regular basis with a friend, study partner, or even some language learning software, you’ll quickly become confident and comfortable with using what you’ve already learned. Not learning at regular intervals will cause you to forget and struggle to remember certain words when trying to repeat sentences…. I should know, I learned this word!” kind of way.
